I would like to introduce you all to something I like to think of as heavenly goodness. Imagine the best calzone you have ever tasted. Now forget it because this is royalty of that same family. There is this little place in Milan called Panifico Luini. We just call it Luini's.
Among other things, they make this little treat called panzerotto. If a doughnut and a pizza had a baby, this would be it. Here is a picture I found off the internet (I take no responsibility for taking the picture.):
There are different flavors depending on the season. Most recently, I have seen ingredients including olives, eggplant, tomato, spinach, mushroom. My personal favorite is the original with the simple ingredients of mozzarella and tomatoes. It is delicious. It is moments like this that I wish I could send a file that would give you the delight of enjoying the smell and taste of this beauty. Maybe in a few years technology will catch up with what the customers what. Until then, I'll just have to continue bragging.
If anyone is venturing to London or New York, there are stores open (or opening) there. I am going to miss that little shop. Here is the website for those that would like to read up a little more: http://www.luini.it/index.htm
